Must Reads this Week

The Big 3 stood out this week!

Godot XR Community Update

Godot is starting out this week with it's fourth Godot XR Game Jam and with a blog post on the latest XR development updates on Godot Engine. It's been 0 days since I learned that you can actually make a full game in Godot using it's XR Editor version (check the video on the blog post, it's honestly wild). Godot is also approaching its 4.5 launch with the first Release Candidate.

Unity Games in Review

Unity posted their Games made with Unity showcase for August 2025. A great opportunity to check different genres of games and what Unity can offer for different genres.

Unreal Engine interviews Blooper Team

Unreal posted an interview with the Blooper Team about Cronos: The New Dawn, and how they used the Engine to make the game. As always, what picks my interest the most in those interviews is what features the developers comment about on the game engine. There is some obvious self-marketing involved but the interview is still quite interesting.

Finally, quite a packed week on Engine updates, such as Defold, Castle Engine, Wonderland Engine and PixiJS.

Another week with great Graphics Engineering content, so I separated them here:
