Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of level of experience, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, or other similar characteristics.

Expected Behavior

We expect all community members to:

  • Be respectful and considerate in your communication and actions
  • Be collaborative and helpful to other community members
  • Be mindful of your language and avoid offensive or inappropriate comments
  • Respect different viewpoints and experiences
  • Focus on constructive feedback when discussing game engines and technologies
  • Be patient with newcomers and those learning
  • Respect privacy and do not share personal information without consent

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered harassment and will not be tolerated:

  • Violence, threats of violence, or inciting others to commit self-harm
  • Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material
  • Personal attacks, insults, or derogatory comments
  • Harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention
  • Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Spam, excessive self-promotion, or off-topic content
  • Any other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate

Comment Guidelines

When participating in blog post discussions, please:

  • Stay on topic and contribute meaningfully to the discussion
  • Provide constructive feedback rather than just criticism
  • Share your experience with game engines in a helpful way
  • Ask questions respectfully if you need clarification
  • Use appropriate language suitable for a professional environment
  • Avoid excessive self-promotion - focus on adding value to the discussion

Note: Comments that violate this Code of Conduct may be flagged by community members and will be reviewed by our moderation team. Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent restrictions from commenting.

Reporting Issues

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please use the flag button on comments or contact our moderation team. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

You can also contact us directly through our support email "moderation@enginesdatabase.com" if you need to report serious violations.

Enforcement

Community moderators are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.

Enforcement actions may include:

  • Warning: A private or public warning about inappropriate behavior
  • Temporary restriction: A temporary ban from commenting or participating
  • Permanent ban: A permanent ban from the community for severe violations

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces managed by Game Engines Database, including blog comments, social media interactions, and any other forums where our community gathers.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, and other community guidelines. We thank the open source community for providing these excellent resources.
